As we continue to strengthen our impact and shape the future of multicultural services, we are seeking an experienced and values-driven General Manager, Settlement & Community Support to join our Executive Leadership Team.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the General Manager, Settlement & Community Support provides strategic, operational and commercial leadership across a diverse and highly impactful portfolio.
This role oversees settlement services, community support programs, migration and immigration services, employment pathways, education and training, youth and family services, and community development initiatives that support migrants and refugees to successfully settle, participate and thrive within Australian society.
You will lead a team of experienced managers and leaders while driving service excellence, innovation, growth, advocacy and sustainable outcomes for culturally diverse communities.
This role is ideal for an accomplished executive leader who is passionate about multicultural communities, social impact and delivering services that create meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the strategic and operational performance of Settlement & Community Support services.
- Translate organisational strategy into measurable outcomes, service excellence and sustainable growth.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of high-performing managers and service leaders.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement and service development across a diverse portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with funding agreements, legislative requirements, quality standards and accreditation frameworks.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with government, funders, community organisations, educational institutions and multicultural leaders.
- Champion culturally responsive, person-centred and trauma-informed service delivery.
- Identify and secure opportunities for growth, funding diversification and business development.
- Lead departmental financial performance, budgeting and resource management.
- Represent Cultura as a respected sector leader and advocate for multicultural communities.
- Contribute to organisational strategy, risk management and executive decision-making.
About You
You are an authentic and collaborative leader with a deep commitment to empowering culturally diverse communities and delivering positive social outcomes.
You will bring:
- Significant senior executive or operational leadership experience within community services, settlement services, multicultural affairs, migration, education, employment or related human services sectors.
- Demonstrated success leading complex service portfolios and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience driving organisational growth, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong commercial acumen, including financial management, contract management and business development.
- Extensive stakeholder engagement experience across government, community and funding sectors.
- A robust understanding of multicultural communities and the migrant and refugee experience in Australia.
- Proven ability to influence,
advocate and build strategic partnerships that deliver lasting community impact.
- Experience leading organisational and workforce change in complex environments.
- Strong governance, compliance and risk management capability.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, management, health, education, business or a related discipline.
