Community Based Support (CBS) is a not-for-profit Tasmanian organisation delivering aged care and disability services. Support Worker - Community

Permanent Part Time

The Support Worker provides flexible and person-centred care to people accessing aged care and disability services. They assist our most vulnerable community members to be independent and live in their own homes, in a way that understands, respects and facilitates individual interests, needs and preferences.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide practical and physical support as needed for daily personal care and domestic duties, including assistance with:
- Daily hygiene routines and personal care
- Preparation and cooking of meals
- Assist with medications
- Provide social support, such as having a coffee, going shopping, buying groceries, attending appointments
- Domestic assistance with vacuuming, making beds and general household cleaning
- Provide encouragement and support to maintain independent living skills




- Encourage and support clients to understand their rights and responsibilities and to make informed decisions while maintaining the client’s dignity, integrity and confidentiality
- Complete reports and document incidents in accordance with CBS policies and procedures

What you bring:

- Certificate III in Individual Support
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration with NDI S endorsement (or ability to obtain)
- A National Police Check that is no older than 3 months (or ability to obtain)
- Driver's licence and access to a reliable car
- First Aid and CPR certificate
