MMB Electrical Services is expanding our workshop team and is seeking an experienced Switchboard Manufacturing Electrician to support our growing commercial, industrial and mechanical services switchboard and control panel workload.

This role suits a detail-focused electrician who takes pride in building high-quality switchboards and control panels, understands standards and compliance, and enjoys working in a professional, well-organised workshop environment.

The Role

As a Switchboard Manufacturing Electrician, you’ll be responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and quality-checking electrical switchboards and control panels in our workshop.

You’ll work closely with the production team, engineers, and supervisors to ensure all boards are built accurately, tested thoroughly, and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

Switchboard Assembly & Wiring

- Assemble and wire switchboards, control panels, and distribution boards to technical drawings and specifications

- Install components including circuit breakers, relays, meters, terminal blocks, and control devices

- Ensure correct wiring layout, termination, and labelling in accordance with standards

Testing & Quality Control

- Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing





- Identify and rectify wiring issues, faults, or assembly defects

- Record and document test results in line with QA requirements

Technical Interpretation

- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings

- Liaise with engineers or supervisors to resolve technical queries

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and PPE requirements

- Ensure all work complies with electrical standards, codes, and company policies

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order

- Complete job records, wiring documentation, and timesheets accurately

- Contribute to continuous improvement in workshop efficiency and quality

Skills & Experience

- Current Electrical Licence (WA)

- Proven experience in switchboard or control panel manufacturing

- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings

- Solid knowledge of electrical standards and testing procedures

- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Reliable, organised, and team-focused

- Ability to meet production deadlines
