Work Environment / Compensation : Full-time, permanent role. Competitive salary of £27,523 per annum, with progression up to £36,011 at level 5. Core hours are 37 per week with a standby rota and call‑out/weekend working thereafter. Additional salary uplift allowance applies for standby involvement. 23 days of holiday plus bank holidays, discretionary bonus, contributory pension, share save scheme, and various health perks.
Responsibilities
- Carry out on‑site monitoring and maintenance to keep wastewater treatment works operating effectively and in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Respond to site conditions and monitoring information to maintain compliance and protect the environment.
- Store and handle chemicals in accordance with COSHH, QMS procedures, and relevant health and safety standards.
- Use the iSCADA control system to manage plant operations.
- Adhere to schedules, business rules, and procedures.
- Liaise with team members and other business areas to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Deal with customer queries when approached directly and appropriately pass information up the management line.
- Perform standby, call‑outs and evening/weekend work on a rota basis.
- Travel within the region and support other zones as required.
Requirements
- Previous practical experience is desirable, but induction training will be provided.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and a Science subject.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.
