About the role

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Grade 3 Social Worker to join the Western Health Social Work Department in a full-time ongoing role.

Working within a agile, multidisciplinary environment, you will apply your specialised clinical expertise to deliver high quality, person-centred interprofessional care, while providing clinical leadership and professional supervision to a small social work team.

Key responsibilities

- Provide a timely response to referrals through evidence based clinical services using a person-centred approach in the development of appropriate treatment plans, and operationally manage a small team to deliver the same
- Demonstrate extensive, evidence-based specialist knowledge, clinical reasoning and competencies, to lead and enhance patient care in area of practice
- Lead and participate in research and service improvement activities, and hold responsibility for data reporting and analysis
- Provide professional supervision and clinical leadership to Grade 1 and 2 Social Workers, Allied Health Assistants and students
- Bachelor/Masters of Social Work degree and eligibility for AASW membership
- Minimum 7 years skilled social work experience, preferably in a hospital/health care setting
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills
