An opportunity has arisen to join our Global Finance team in Western Australia, collaborating with teams in Canada, USA and the South Americas.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial accounting, effective financial control and timely reporting across the Molycop Technology operations. The role has formal people leadership responsibility for the Accounts Payable Officer and Accounts Receivable Officer, providing direction, coaching, oversight and performance support to maintain high standards of transactional accuracy and service delivery to supplier and customer account management.
The position supports sound operational and financial decision-making through the management of key accounting processes, balance sheet integrity, statutory compliance and business performance activities and will maintain accurate accounting and effective control over leases, fixed assets and capital projects, while contributing to timely, accurate and insightful month-end reporting for internal stakeholders.
The role will also provide reliable support to the Senior Financial Accountant during periods of high workload, change or business priority.
The successful candidate, with between 5-8 years’ experience, an Accounting degree and CA / CPA qualified must:
- Have experience in preparing monthly financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and preparing analysis, reporting and modelling to support decision making
- Be experienced in partnering with functional leads to deliver accurate and timely budgets and forecasts and in preparing and maintaining accurate and timely cashflow forecasts while working with internal stakeholders on operational funding requirements
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining detailed sales reporting suites to allow for accurate and timely reporting on revenue and unearned revenue as well as proactively providing other insights to enable informed business decision making
- Be comfortable in participating in costing and pricing review processes and contributing to the development of pricing strategies as well as preparing financial performance reporting and commentary including material variance analysis
- Be well experienced in monitoring transactional data and investigating variances, then preparing ad-hoc analysis, reporting and modelling to support decision making processes
- Use previous experience to participate in month-end close processes focussing on the relevant business unit P&L; which includes sales, cost of sales and operating activities
- Understand the value that sound financial accounting support brings
- Have preferably worked in the technology or mining sector
It would be Desirable if the successful candidate has:
- Experience using Dynamics 365, Power BI and OneStream.
- Previous collaboration across multiple, global sites.
