Join the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) and C4 East teams as a Registered Nurse, where you’ll deliver high-quality, patient‑centred care to individuals with a diverse range of acute and complex medical conditions. Working in a fast‑paced, supportive and multidisciplinary environment, you will use your clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills to support patients throughout their hospital journey, from admission through to discharge.

MAU offers exposure to acute patient assessment, early intervention, patient flow and discharge coordination, while C4 East provides experience across a broad range of medical specialties and complex care needs. Together, these units offer an excellent opportunity to strengthen your clinical capability and expand your acute medical nursing experience.

You will work closely with medical officers, allied health professionals, educators and nursing leadership in an environment that values learning, continuous improvement and professional growth. The team is committed to fostering a positive and supportive culture where nurses are encouraged, developed and empowered to deliver safe, evidence‑based care.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed‑base count of more than 500.

Essential Requirements.

- Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
- A minimum of one (1) year full‑time postgraduate employment (or 1982 hours part‑time/casual) within Australia.
