Overview

At Mission Australia, we walk alongside people on their recovery journey, offering hope, connection and practical support when it matters most. As a Recovery Coordinator within our Psychosocial Support Program, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with severe and persistent mental health issues to navigate their path toward independence and wellbeing. You will help turn goals into meaningful outcomes, ensuring each person is supported with compassion, respect and perseverance at every step of their journey.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred, recovery-oriented support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, supporting them to achieve their personal goals
- Assist clients to navigate the NDIS application process, including preparation and evidence gathering
- Develop and implement holistic, strengths-based individual recovery plans with clients
- Conduct assessments including risk assessments and recognised tools to inform support planning
- Facilitate one‑on‑one and small group capacity building activities to strengthen independence and social connection
- Support clients to access services, build natural supports, and strengthen community and family connections
- Deliver outreach services while maintaining a robust focus on safety and risk management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, service providers and community stakeholders
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes, reports and client records in line with programme requirements
- Contribute to programme delivery,



continuous improvement and achievement of service KPIs

Qualifications

- University Degree holder or a relevant Associate Diploma or certificate with relevant experience, or other appropriate qualification/experience acceptable to Mission Australia
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges using a recovery-oriented, person-centred approach
- Experience conducting assessments, including risk assessments, and applying appropriate intervention strategies
- Experience with facilitating multidisciplinary coordinated planning where multiple providers work together to wrap‑around service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, including proficient administrative skills and use of technology (database, mobile devices)
- Full driver licence with no restrictions
- Ability to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people
