Job Description

First Friends (WA) Pty Ltd is a long daycare centre based in Mindarie in Perth's northern suburbs. We are now seeking a dedicated, experienced Room Leader to join our team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognised university (as listed on the approved qualification list by ACECQA)
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
- Current First Aid qualification
- Current ACECQA approved anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training
- Current approved CPR training
- National Child Safety Training
- Approved Child Protection Training

Essential Experience

- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0 and/or My Time Our Place Framework (MTOP) V2.0
- Education and Care Services National Law
- Education and Care Services National Regulations
- Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy 2018)
- Child Protection legislation

Position Objectives

- Be responsible for management of the day-to-day operation of the assigned room, including providing leadership and support to educators and staff within the team in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures
- In collaboration with the educational leader, assist with the development, implementation and reflection of the educational program to provide a high-quality program for all children and families
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families,



educators, staff and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children
- In the absence of the director/nominated supervisor, undertake responsibilities as per the Responsible Person Policy and procedure for the day-to-day management of the Service

- Valid Working with Children Check
- Remain a fit and proper person to work with children, meeting all suitability, screening, and compliance requirements under relevant legislation
- Willing to accept the role of responsible person and meet ongoing requirements of the responsible person under the Education and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance of the following: Service Policies and Procedures, National Quality Framework (NQF), Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations, National Quality Standard (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0/My Time Our Place (MTOP) V2.0, Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics, Work Health and Safety Act 2009, Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) 2014, Fair Work Act, Family Assistance Law, Child Protection legislation, National Principles of Child Protected Organisations or relevant Child Safe Standards, Other relevant state/territory and federal legislation as required
