Role Overview The Tax Accountant is responsible for supporting the Tax Manager in the delivery of REMONDIS Australia’s internal tax function. This role focuses on the accurate and timely execution of tax compliance, reporting, and day‑to‑day tax operations, ensuring adherence to Australian tax laws and internal policies.
Responsibilities - Prepare and lodge income tax returns, transfer pricing filings (CbCR and Pillar2), GST, FBT, PAYG instalments, and other statutory filings for REMONDIS entities in compliance with Australian tax law requirements.
- Maintain accurate tax records, workpaper, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare quarterly tax effect accounting calculations and financial statement disclosures in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
- Assist the Tax Manager with tax advice, governance, internal controls, audits, and reporting obligations.
- Identify process improvements and help automate manual tax tasks where possible.
- Collaborate with finance teams, advisors, auditors, and agencies to support accurate and timely tax reporting.
Skills and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA/CPA qualified.
- Minimum of 3‑4 years of experience in tax roles, working with or in a large or complex business environment or in professional services.
- Strong working knowledge of income tax, GST, FBT, PAYGW, and tax effect accounting.
- Familiarity with navigating Australian tax legislation and ATO compliance requirements, including cross‑border reporting obligations.
- Proficiency in preparing tax returns, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to use financial systems and reporting tools.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive approach to learning and process improvement.
- Ability to work effectively under supervision and as part of a team.
