As a Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the ANZ Tax team across a broad range of tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities. Working within a energetic corporate environment, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure tax obligations are met accurately and efficiently. Previous experience in a medium to large organisation will be highly regarded. Your responsibilities will include:
- Accountability for the assigned month-end balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring compliance to set timelines
- Preparations of monthly BAS for Australia & New Zealand and Quarterly FBT return for New Zealand.
- Assist with the preparation of work papers to complete annual income tax returns, and FBT returns in compliance with Australian and New Zealand taxation requirements.
- Supporting external and internal auditors with questions/information requests as/when needed
- Ensure tax compliance and completion of relevant returns (GST, FBT, Income tax, WHT),on a timely and accurate basis
- Maintain financial and system controls to minimise business risk including payment and bank approvals
Have You Got What We’re Looking For?
- Graduate / Postgraduate in relevant Business or Finance discipline
- Strong Taxation (eg BAS, FBT ) knowledge and experience
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel and Word),as well as systems experience: SAP ideal
- Understanding of accounting systems, processes and business principles is essential
- Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
- A High level of attention to detail, accuracy and analytical skills is required.
