About the Role
Minarah College is seeking a dedicated and team-oriented Teacher’s Aide / Learning Support Officer for a short-term block within our Primary School campus at Green Valley. This temporary contract offers an excellent opportunity to support young learners in a safe, faith-centred environment.
Key Information
- Duration: 10 August to 1 December (approx. 16 weeks)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Green Valley Campus (264 Wilson Rd, Green Valley NSW)
As a Teacher Aide, you will be:
- Providing general assistance of a supportive nature to teachers, as directed
- Assisting student learning, either individually or in groups, under the direct supervision of a higher level general employee or a teacher
- Assisting with the collection, preparation and distribution of classroom materials
- Assisting with clerical duties associated with normal classroom activities, e.g. student records, equipment records, etc.
- Assisting teachers with the care of students on school excursions, sports days and other classroom activities
- As you complete your teaching degree and obtain your teaching accreditation with NESA, you will be expected to join as FT teacher.
Successful candidates should have:
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
- Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with teachers, students, and parents.
- Maintaining and updating SharePoint
- Maintaining and scheduling appointments with parents
- Preparing and formatting documents, reports, and presentations.
- Printing, photocopying, and laminating
Skills/experience:
- Previous experience in an administration role
- Proficient understanding in the use of Microsoft Office suite
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Enthusiastic with an ability to multitask and work in a busy environment
