About the Role
As a Vacuum Excavation Technician , you will safely expose underground services using non-destructive excavation techniques while working alongside Utility Locators, Survey Technicians and Project Teams.
You will operate specialised vacuum excavation equipment, maintain high safety standards and help deliver projects safely, efficiently and without damage to underground infrastructure.
No two days are the same. You will work across transport, utilities, construction and major infrastructure projects throughout metropolitan and regional Western Australia.
What You Will Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating vacuum excavation trucks and equipment safely
- Exposing underground utilities without causing damage
- Completing potholing and service verification
- Conducting daily plant inspections and basic equipment maintenance
- Completing SWMS, JHAs and risk assessments
- Working safely around live underground services
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site reinstatement
- Delivering excellent customer service on every job
- Supporting continuous improvement across the business
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job properly and is committed to safety, quality and teamwork.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Construction White Card
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Experience working around underground utilities
- Good physical fitness
- Ability to work outdoors in a range of conditions
- Positive attitude and team mindset
Highly Regarded
- RIICCM303 Conduct Vacuum Excavations
- MR or HR Driver’s Licence
- Utility locating experience
- First Aid and CPR
- Water Corporation or Western Power inductions
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects
