The Senior Support Officer within the Temporary Accommodation Support Team is responsible for providing client‑centred supports to eligible households impacted by the January 2026 bushfires.

Responsibilities

- Triage and assess applications referred to the team via the Emergency Recovery Support Program.
- Work collaboratively with individuals seeking temporary accommodation, their support service providers, internal stakeholders and the broader Victorian Government to develop initiatives that deliver client‑centred outcomes and high service standards.
- Assess client needs and provide advice on temporary accommodation options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards.
- Work closely with external partners, such as support services and other government departments, to identify, assess and manage risks to ensure high standards of client‑centred outcomes.
- Provide timely expert advice and develop open and effective communication strategies, including collection of highly complex, contentious or sensitive information on matters of staff or business.

Qualifications & Requirements





- Valid unrestricted Victorian driver's licence.
- Ability to commute to fire‑impacted communities as part of recovery efforts.
- Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or holder of a valid work permit or visa.
- Experience in client‑centred support roles (preferred).
