Overview

We are currently seeking a Training Officer, experience in Aged Care, to cover Kalgoorlie, Wheatbelt and Perth South Eastern Suburbs. Salary: $90,000 - $100,000. Role: Full time, Permanent. Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Required Experience

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
- Experience delivering training in aged care, disability, community care, or health services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards.
- Experience conducting competency assessments.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Desired Experience

- Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) qualification.
- Experience within Home Care Packages (HCP), Support at Home, and NDIS.
- Experience with clinical education and mentoring.
- Experience using online learning management systems AUSMED.

Position Purpose

The Aged Care Training Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating education and training programs across Right at Home Kalgoorlie Wheatbelt and Perth South Eastern Suburbs. The role ensures employees possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to deliver secure, high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining compliance with legislative requirements, the Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

Training and Education

- Coordinate and deliver staff induction, orientation, mandatory training, and refresher programs.
- Develop, review, and maintain training materials and educational resources through AUSMED.
- Deliver face-to-face, online, and practical training sessions.




- Coordinate external training providers where required and promote evidence-based practice.

Workforce Development

- Identify training needs through audits, observations, incident reviews, and performance feedback.
- Develop learning plans and support career development pathways for employees.
- Mentor, coach, and support staff development, capability, and performance improvement.
- Assist managers with workforce capability planning.

Competency Assessment

- Conduct competency assessments for care staff across core areas including manual handling, infection prevention and control, medication assistance, dementia care, personal care, and documentation.
- Provide feedback and recommend additional training to address competency gaps.

Compliance

- Monitor mandatory training completion and maintain accurate training records.
- Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, Work Health and Safety requirements, infection prevention and control requirements, and organisational policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with managers and key stakeholders to support onboarding, workforce development, and staff education.
- Deliver education during staff meetings and toolbox talks and maintain positive working relationships across all service areas.
