Role Title: SCC Executive Control Coordinator (VPS Grade 4 – $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuation, ongoing full time).
About The Role
The Executive Control Coordinator provides executive and secretariat support to the State Response Controller (SRC), Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC) and the Watch Desk Lead within the State Control Centre (SCC). The role is responsible for preparing briefs, reports and responses to correspondence, supporting record‑keeping governance and management, and ensuring effective coordination of executive and secretariat processes.
The incumbent will work a 7‑day roster, including day and afternoon shifts on weekends and public holidays. Emergency‑management duties may require work outside rostered hours and may involve locations beyond the SCC, in accordance with training and endorsements. As part of the current VPS Enterprise Agreement, employees on a 7‑day roster who work at least 10 Sundays will receive an extra week of annual leave; public‑holiday shift work is covered by substitute leave entitlement.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑level customer service and executive support to the SRC, EMC and Watch Desk Lead.
- Support coordination of executive and secretariat processes by monitoring workflows, tracking actions, and ensuring timely follow‑up of decisions and requests.
- Communicate the appropriate activation level of the SCC, timing of meetings,
briefings and products in consultation with the Watch Desk Lead.
- Prepare and deliver briefs, reports, and responses to correspondence as required.
- Maintain records and governance related to executive support functions.
- Participate in emergency management roles within the SCC and other locations as required.
About You
Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria’s emergency‑management arrangements, or a comparable jurisdiction, is desirable.
Previous experience in the operations of government is desirable.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field would be desirable.
