We're partnering with a globally recognised technology-driven organisation that's investing heavily in its cloud engineering capabilities. They're looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to drive the evolution of a large-scale analytics and compute platform used by engineering teams to build, test and deploy mission-critical applications.

This is a role for someone who loves solving complex engineering problems at scale. You'll lead a talented team while remaining technically credible, influencing architecture, engineering standards and platform direction. Rather than building a single application, you'll be creating the foundations that enable hundreds of engineers to deliver faster, safer and more efficiently.

What you'll be doingLead a team responsible for a cloud-native engineering and analytics platform used across multiple development teams.

Define the technical direction, architecture and engineering standards for a highly available, scalable platform.

Work closely with engineering leaders, product teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

Mentor and develop engineers while fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

Drive platform reliability, performance, security and automation across the engineering ecosystem.

Champion up-to-date engineering practices including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud-native development and AI-assisted software engineering.





Partner with technical and non-technical users to improve developer experience and maximise platform adoption.

What we're looking for

You'll be an experienced engineering leader with the technical depth to earn the respect of senior engineers while possessing the communication skills to influence stakeholders across the business.

You'll ideally bring

Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering large-scale platforms or shared engineering services.

Strong software engineering background in Python, Java or Scala.

Experience building cloud-native platforms using AWS and Kubernetes.

Deep knowledge of distributed systems, platform engineering and scalable infrastructure.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Helm or CloudFormation.

Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and developer productivity tooling.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with engineers, architects, executives and business users.

Experience introducing AI-powered engineering tools, developer workflows or automation would be highly regarded.
