About the Position The purpose of this technical officer position is to provide essential technical support for the clinical and virtual simulation activities across the Faculty of Health. Clinical and virtual simulations enable students to acquire and enhance their confidence and proficiency in clinical practice within a safe controlled environment. The technical officer additionally plays an important role in supporting academic staff in the provision of teaching, research, and community engagement activities.
About You To be successful, you will require:
- Relevant qualifications and experience or an equivalent combination of knowledge and/or training and experience to a bachelor's degree level in a health-related discipline.
- Knowledge and experience in preparing and using clinical simulation equipment and associated software systems.
- Knowledge of clinical simulation safe working practices and WHS regulations, especially regarding storage and disposal of medical gases and biological materials.
- Demonstrated clinical simulation skills including maintenance of facilities, management of equipment and clinical practice supplies, and accurate record keeping.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and to adapt to a changing and flexible work environment, while maintaining initiative, self-motivation, and discipline.
- Possess a working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office applications, and an aptitude for using online procurement systems and databases.
- Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills with awareness and knowledge of the importance of a culturally safe workplace.

Desirable competencies
- Knowledge and expertise in online learning management systems and audio-visual equipment.
- Willingness to obtain First Aid Certificate
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance. It is a requirement of the position for the occupier to hold a current clean driver’s licence if working in the NT.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Skilled Employee Level 5. The base salary will be in the range of $75,927 - $87,716 per annum.
The total remuneration package will be in the range of $88,834 - $102,627 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
