Technology Officer Contract with State Gov Department

Your new role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Technology Officer to join a busy IT support team on an initial 5-month contract. Based in Brisbane CBD, you will provide Level 1 and Level 2 helpdesk and desktop support to end users across metropolitan and regional locations.
In this role, you will be responsible for responding to support requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT documentation, deploying and configuring devices, and supporting a range of technology initiatives. You will work closely with senior technical teams to escalate incidents when required and ensure a high level of customer service is maintained at all times.
Key responsibilities include
- Providing Level 1 and Level 2 desktop and helpdesk support
- Managing and resolving incidents and service requests within agreed timeframes
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating system issues
- Escalating complex issues to specialist support teams
- Maintaining knowledge base articles and asset registers
- Performing hardware builds, device imaging, and software installations
- Supporting departmental technology projects and initiatives
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to a collaborative team culture
What you'll need to succeed
- At least 6 months' experience in a similar IT support role or relevant technical training
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Experience supporting users within an enterprise environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and services
- Experience supporting PCs, laptops, and mobile devices
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software issues
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management
- Experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft Azure environments
- Experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow
