Diesel Mechanic
Jadoon Group Pty Ltd t/a Auto Care Centre Maddingley / TyrePlus is seeking a full-time qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team.
Available Position
Qualified Diesel Mechanic – Minimum of four years' experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of diesel-powered vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Identify faults using diagnostic equipment and recommend effective repair solutions.
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on diesel engines and associated systems.
- Inspect, test, and repair fuel injection systems, turbochargers, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct engine diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
- Dismantle, repair, and replace defective components and assemblies.
- Perform preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate repair records.
- Carry out final quality control checks before returning vehicles to customers.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised workshop.
- Assist in mentoring apprentices and supporting workshop staff when required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant Australian trade qualification (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Diesel Engine Technology, or equivalent).
- Minimum four years' experience working as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Solid diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with modern diagnostic equipment and electronic diesel management systems.
- Experience working on light commercial, heavy commercial, agricultural, or earthmoving equipment is highly regarded.
- HR or HC Licence is advantageous but not essential.
- Air Conditioning Handling Licence is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
