Reporting to the Head of Retail Operations, you will act as the architect of the Lush experience for staff. You will lead a multidisciplinary team—including Safety, Learning & Development, Communication and HR Generalists—to transform them into a powerhouse that supports our retail arm. Your mission is to ensure that every Lush employee feels supported, developed, and inspired from day one to their last.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead and oversee day‑to‑day operations of the P&C; team to optimise performance, increase productivity, and ensure team wellbeing.
- Strategic Vision: Develop and implement a people‑management strategy that aligns with Lush’s ethical values and retail growth objectives.
- Coaching & Consulting: Partner with retail leaders to coach them on becoming better managers, focusing on succession planning and team health.
- ER/IR Excellence: Provide expert advice on HR and ER/IR matters (Awards, legislation,
policy) to protect and treat people fairly.
- Culture & Change: Lead organisational change initiatives with empathy and clarity, ensuring a people‑first mindset during transitions.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- The People Person Gene: Proven track record managing teams where people thrive, measuring success by team outcomes.
- Strategic Foresight: Ability to analyse processes and see their impact on the human experience; creative problem‑solver willing to challenge the status quo.
- Influencing & Collaboration: Expert at building relationships, influencing senior leaders and guiding them through complex people challenges.
- Technical Foundations: Deep understanding of the General Retail Industry Award and expertise in industrial and employee relations, including enterprise agreement negotiations.
- Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity, able to pivot quickly in a fast‑paced retail environment while keeping strategic goals on track.
