About the Role

Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, the Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of the dealership's financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced automotive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing accurate and timely monthly financial statements and management reports
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts and finance team
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, taxation, and manufacturer reporting requirements
- Monitoring departmental performance (new/used vehicle sales, service, parts) against KPIs
- Liaising with the Dealer Principal and department managers to drive profitability
- Managing floorplan financing, reconciliations, and stock control processes
- Overseeing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger integrity
- Supporting audits and liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems,

About You

- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within the automotive dealership industry
- Sound knowledge of dealership management systems (e.g. Tune/Revolution, ERA-Power, or similar)
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded
- Strong understanding of floorplan financing and dealership stock control
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a small finance team
- High attention to detail and robust analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data for non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work autonomously
