TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS, TMIs & UTE DRIVERS
Experienced Professionals & Developing Talent Welcome
Greater Brisbane | Commercial Construction | Above-Award Rates
$44.50 per hour – Traffic Controller duties
$47.50 per hour – Traffic Management Implementer duties
JC Hire & Earthworks is expanding our high-quality traffic-control team for commercial construction work across the Greater Brisbane region. Our upcoming commercial construction project is expected to commence in September 2026, with earlier opportunities potentially becoming available.
Due to the scale and operational demands of the project, we are recruiting in advance to carefully select, onboard and prepare our traffic-control team before the site becomes fully operational. This is an opportunity to join JC Hire early, become familiar with our standards and systems, and be ready to commence as the project progresses.
Built from experience. Driven by excellence.
At JC Hire & Earthworks, you are not just a number—you are a vital asset to our team. Together, we provide an exceptional service for our clients and a safe environment for our community.
Whether you are an experienced traffic-management professional or a newer ticketed Traffic Controller looking for the right company in which to develop, we would like to hear from you.
While experience is highly regarded, we also recognise that capability is not measured only by years in the industry. A strong work ethic, sound safety awareness, reliability and a genuine willingness to learn the JC Standard are equally important to us.
ABOUT THE UPCOMING PROJECT The project will operate within a busy commercial construction environment involving tower-crane operations, frequent precast deliveries and a high volume of truck and plant movements along a busy council-controlled road.
We are seeking a combination of experienced Traffic Controllers, TMIs and Ute Drivers, together with motivated newer Traffic Controllers who are ready to learn and develop under guidance.
The project requires a calm, alert and well-organised team. Applicants are not expected to have independently managed every aspect of a project of this scale; however, they must be honest about their experience, follow direction and demonstrate the attitude and safety awareness required to develop into the role.
Team members working on the project may be expected to:
- Establish, maintain and monitor exclusion zones in accordance with approved traffic-management plans and site procedures
- Safely coordinate frequent truck, precast and plant movements into and out of the site
- Manage interactions between construction activities, road traffic, pedestrians, workers and members of the public
- Communicate clearly with drivers, crane crews, site management and other Traffic Controllers
- Anticipate changing conditions and respond quickly without compromising safety
- Maintain strong radio communication and situational awareness throughout the shift
- Represent JC Hire professionally when communicating with clients, workers, motorists and the surrounding community
This will not be a low-activity gate position. It is an opportunity for capable traffic-management professionals who take ownership of their work area and are ready to develop the skills required to safely manage competing demands in a busy public environment.
Duties will be allocated according to each employee’s demonstrated experience, competency and level of authorisation. Newer team members will receive guidance and will not be expected to undertake responsibilities beyond their current capability.
