Job Description
Stonemason & Architectural Draftsperson At Subiaco Stone Works, we are looking for a skilled Stonemason and an Architectural Draftsperson to work on a full-time basis (at least 38 hours per week). Stonemason Duties and Responsibilities:
- Shape and prepare stone materials using hand tools or machinery to meet project dimensions and design requirements.
- Assemble stone components for structures such as walls, entries, decorative features, and architectural surfaces.
- Assess stone quality, identifying cracks, weaknesses, or imperfections before use.
- Cut, grind, or polish stone surfaces to achieve required finishes, textures, or edge profiles.
- Install stone pieces securely using adhesives, fixings, supports, or mortar appropriate for the project.
- Read and interpret project sketches, measurements, and layout instructions to ensure work accuracy.
- Maintain tools and equipment, keeping blades, chisels, and machines in valuable working condition.
- Perform repair or restoration work on damaged stone elements, matching color, style, and structural integrity.
- Handle and move stone safely, using lifting gear or manual techniques to prevent damage or injury.
- Collaborate with supervisors or site personnel to coordinate tasks and ensure progress aligns with project timelines.
Requirement
- Relevant Qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience in the relevant role.
- Able to prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines, and manage multiple stonework assignments efficiently.
- Positive, proactive, and committed to quality workmanship.
Position: Full Time Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 Location: 1/15 Kirke St,
Balcatta WA 6021 Architectural Draftsperson Duties and Responsibilities:
- Making detailed scale drawings for the purpose of the projects carried out from Subiaco Stone
Works;
- Being able to translate the ideas in drawings with the right measurement including details of the buildings and of the construction with these associated;
- Using AutoCAD and other specific IT programs to prepare both sketches and drawings professionally;
- Applying principles as expected from the law and making the drawing easy to be read also for the purpose of the supervisor.
- Selecting materials needed and inspecting their quality, taking into consideration the material and labour costs, as well as construction completion dates;
- Estimating and preparing the budgets for each project;
- Examining relevant Acts, regulations, codes, standards and by-laws in the course of undertaking project documentation;
- Obtaining and assembling data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary;
- Drawing rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data;
- Inspect work sites to ensure the projects are finalized accordingly to law requirements.
Requirement
- Relevant Qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification.
