Role Description This is a part time remote role for a UX/UI Designer. The designer will create user-centered interfaces for web and mobile applications used in departmental projects, research platforms, and academic initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include conducting basic user research, defining user flows, producing wireframes and interactive mockups, and collaborating with faculty, students, and developers to refine requirements.
The role involves delivering polished visual designs, ensuring accessibility and usability, and iterating on designs based on feedback and testing outcomes. The designer will also document design decisions and maintain design systems or style guides that support consistent experiences across digital touchpoints.
Qualifications
Strong User Experience (UX) skills, including user flows, information architecture, and interaction design.
User Interface Design and Visual Design skills to create clean, consistent, and accessible interfaces.
Ability to produce high-quality wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using modern design tools.
Basic Front-End Development knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
Familiarity with responsive and mobile-first design principles and accessibility best practices.
Good communication and collaboration abilities, with a structured approach to feedback and iteration.
Previous experience designing for educational, research, or data-driven applications is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
