- Based in Melton/Sunshine Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services (Djerriwarrh) is a highly regarded not-for-profit charitable organisation which has been delivering high quality education, training, employment and youth programs in the western suburbs of Melbourne since 1989. Program: The Djerriwarrh Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Business unit delivers a range of accredited training including the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. The EAL programs/courses assist participants develop language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills, with the expectation that such improvements will enable them to participate more effectively in the Australian community, further training or the labour force.
Role: Djerriwarrhhas received funding from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) to deliver a complimentary projectfora pathway course enabling students transition into Certificate II in Community Services. The VET Trainer/Assessor is responsible for the delivery and assessment of a VET qualification or unit of competency. Delivery and assessment will be class and workplace based and may also include online delivery.
The course will provide contextualised language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy training to support participants to develop the skills necessary to transition into the Certificate II in Community Services.
As this is a fixed term project it will require the VET trainer to assist in student recruitment for the course, support the transition of students into the Certificate II in Community Services, project evaluation and report writing. This role will also require the VET trainer to co-teach with an LLND teacher to deliver the non-accredited Pathway to Community Services course.
Skills/Qualifications
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or its equivalent or its successor including:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment,
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, OR - A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training AND - Qualifications at same AQF level or higher in the field of delivery
- Proven recent and relevant training and industry experience
- Current Trainer/Assessor matrix mapped to relevant units of competency
