About Us Victims, Redress and System Reform (VRSR) is part of the Community Safety, Victims and Racing (CSVR) group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety and is responsible for coordinating a suite of services for victims of crime that provide information and support to help manage the effects of crime and guide victims through the criminal justice system across Victoria. VRSR leads the development, design and implementation of innovative service responses to victims of crime in the criminal justice system. The Conferencing team sits within the Victim Engagement in Youth Justice Team (VEYJ). The VEYJ team will deliver a state-wide service to victims of offending by young people. The team will work to ensure that victims' rights under the Victims Charter are enlivened, and that victims are identified, linked with supports and provided opportunities to participate in the youth justice system.

The team will provide direct support to clients in some Children's Court locations and support victims to participate in youth justice restorative justice processes.

What You Will Do As victim's coordinator, conferencing, victim engagement youth justice, you will support victims of crime before, during and after youth justice group conferences.





You will provide trauma-informed support, practical advice and clear information that helps victims take part with confidence.

You Will

- provide compassionate support and represent victims throughout youth justice group conferencing.
- work with partner services to improve support and achieve positive outcomes for victims.
- deliver specialised training, advice and guidance to organisations that support victims and youth justice conferencing.
- keep accurate case records, collect data and contribute to ongoing service improvement.
- travel across metropolitan and regional Victoria to support victims before and after conferences.

About You A relevant qualification and experience in the human services or criminal justice fields is desirable. You must hold a current Victorian driver licence and be available to travel, including outside standard business hours when needed. A working with children check is also required for this position.

You Should Also Have

- strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice and experience supporting victim survivors.
- a sound understanding of restorative processes, the Victorian criminal justice system, youth justice and victim services.
- critical thinking skills to solve problems and make informed decisions.




- respectful communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
