The Field Service Engineer (FSE) has overall technical responsibility for ensuring that sites meet all contracted Service Level Agreements (SLA). The FSE executes routine work as required, which includes installation, repair and maintenance of the full range of Rap Scan’s Checkpoint & Trace products in Australia and New Zealand. The FSE also has responsibility for the quality of all project and service work to meet specific client requirements within the scope of the statement of work.

Responsibilities

- Installation of the full range of the company’s Checkpoint & Trace products at customer sites.
- Routine preventative and breakdown maintenance of the company’s equipment at customer sites.
- Provide out‑of‑hour standby cover as part of established teams.
- Carry out basic Operator and Technical training when required at customer sites.
- Carry out site surveys and advise customers on technical matters prior to installations.




- Complete all reporting requirements, both internal and customer based, in a timely manner.
- Comply with all QA and HSE requirements, as stipulated by Rap Scan Systems and relevant legislation.
- Travel as required.
- Perform any other departmental ad‑hoc duties when required.

- Report quality problems or defects to manager or senior management to enable corrective action and prevent recurrence.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

- Min 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Electrical/Electronic background preferred.
- High level of organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage responsibility in an independent manner.
- Exceptional attention to detail and capability to develop detailed processes.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Successful record of on‑time project delivery.
- Able to quickly grasp new technologies at a high level.
- Ability to manage conflict and liaise with demanding clients.
- Strong client relationship skills.
- Robust ability to represent a professional image on site.
- PC literate and Microsoft knowledge required.
- Availability for some after‑hours work.
- Electronics and computer knowledge.
- Qualifications in subjects relevant to the role essential.
- Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.
