Techsafe Australia is currently seeking an experienced fully qualified A Grade Electrician to join our team on a Permanent, Full‑time basis.

About the Role

Techsafe is looking for a dedicated and safety‑focused Electrical Inspector who will support electrical compliance across Tasmania’s electrical industry. As a leading provider of electrical compliance services, you will play a critical part in ensuring all electrical works meet regulatory standards, technical specifications, and quality requirements while maintaining the highest level of safety.

The successful candidate will work closely with contractors and stakeholders, uphold standards, and support the electrical industry throughout the state and surrounding islands.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct inspections of electrical infrastructure and installations statewide.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, Acts, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify defects and non‑conformance, providing guidance for standards application.
- Investigate Electrical Shock and Fire incidents to determine cause.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Promote and maintain a robust safety culture across all activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Licensed Electrical Practitioner (Electrician)



– current licence number required.
- Minimum of 5 years post‑trade experience in the general electrical contracting industry.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, particularly AS/NZS 3000 “The Wiring Rules”.
- Knowledgeable in all relevant Tasmanian electrical safety legislation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a productive team.
- Physical ability to inspect required parts of an installation, including working at height.
- Current, unrestricted driver’s licence.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Effective stakeholder engagement abilities.

Training & Development

On‑the‑job training and upskilling in Electrical Shock and Fire investigation, Medical, High Voltage and Hazardous installation inspections will be provided.
