About the role: Pine Rivers Private Hospital offers an exciting opportunity to work within a well‑established and highly supportive Allied Health Team. We are looking for a Social Worker with a passion for excellence in patient care to join our team.

Working independently with patients and as a multidisciplinary team member of mental health professionals; and liaising closely with the treating psychiatrist. You will offer a broad range of therapeutic services.

About Pine Rivers

Pine Rivers Private Hospital (PRPH) is a 70 bed acute Mental Health Hospital located 22km north of Brisbane. It provides a range of highly regarded inpatient, day‑patient and specialty mental health services. We have an established Allied Health team consisting of experienced Psychologists, Social Workers, RNs, Exercise Physiologists and a Yoga teacher. The team also works closely with nursing and admitting psychiatrists to provide optimal and comprehensive patient care. PRPH provides a supportive working setting, educational opportunities, free on‑site and off‑site parking nearby and subsidised meals.

Key responsibilities:

- Providing psychosocial assessment, guidance and advocacy for patients and families.
- Address emotional, social and practical needs of patients and carers.
- Assist with navigating health and community services.




- Coordinate safe and supportive discharge planning, including support with housing, finances, community supports and mental health services, along with providing referrals and advocacy to ensure continuity of care and reduce post‑discharge barriers.
- Skill building to enhance self‑efficacy.
- Contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to patient‑centred, and trauma‑informed, care.
- Risk assessment and crisis management.
- Opportunity to contribute to the inpatient group therapy program.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work.

Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Understanding of, and experience in supporting patients with, mental health concerns.

Ability to work autonomously. Well‑developed communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organisation, time management and self‑management skills.

Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work within and provide Social Work‑related leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence‑based practice.

Recognised endorsement as AASW Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
