About the role

We have an opportunity for a Scene of Crime Officer to be part of our Crime Scene Services Branch, Forensic Evidence & Technical Services team. The Scene of Crime Officer’s primary role is the provision of technical support services with regard to the gathering and interpretation of forensic examination at volume crime scenes.

Suitable applicants will have a commitment to the completion of training into the examination, recording, and collection of evidence at volume crime scenes. This training is provided to develop their forensic investigation skills and relevant qualifications. Applicants will also require a willingness and ability to work as a single unit officer on a seven day roster and interact with victims of crime. The position is based in Bathurst, a significant regional town in the central west of NSW. The successful applicant will be required to travel to surrounding regional towns to complete forensic examinations, experiencing sights and elements which are unique to the role and location.

Qualifications

To be eligible to apply for this role, applicants must meet one of the following:

- a permanent resident of Australia; or
- a New Zealand citizen.

Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.

Remuneration

Total Remuneration Package: Base salary ranges from $102,936 to $113,579 plus employer's contribution to superannuation of 12% and annual leave loading.
