Complex Care Practice Lead (HP4) – Supports and Interventions (SIU)
Location: Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC), Hume
ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to fill this position within Offender Reintegration. The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of both organisational and individual support to increase the capacity of individuals with complex needs within the AMC, manage a multidisciplinary team, facilitate programs, interventions and services with detainees across the AMC, and advise on care and service provision for detainee mental health matters. The role involves coordinating referrals and assessments to ensure clients receive support in line with best practice guidelines, identifying and implementing actions to address systemic barriers to service delivery for detainees with complex needs, leading care coordination meetings, contributing to higher‑level and strategic planning forums, and driving systemic change in the disability and complex care space for ACTCS and the AMC.
To be successful, an applicant must possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, build rapport with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, and demonstrate strong leadership and management qualities. A clinical post‑graduate qualification and experience working within a multidisciplinary team are highly desirable.
Eligibility and Other Requirements
Mandatory
Occupational Therapists:
- Registered or eligible for general registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under AHPRA
- Registration or eligibility for registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- Minimum of five years’ experience post qualification
Nursing:
- Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia under APHRA
- Approved tertiary qualifications or equivalent in nursing
- Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum of five years’ experience post qualification within an acute or rehabilitation adult setting
Psychologists:
- Be registered or be eligible for general registration with Psychology Board of Australia
- Minimum of five years’ experience post qualification
Social Workers:
- Degree in Social Work
- Qualified membership or eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Check) Act 2011 is required
- Minimum of five years’ experience post qualification
This position requires a Police Record Check.
To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa. If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
Desirable
- Post graduate qualification or working towards a post graduate qualification
An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
