About the role

Wellways is seeking a passionate AOD Worker to support people experiencing co‑occurring mental‑health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges through compassionate, recovery‑oriented and trauma‑informed practice. This part‑time (22.8 hours per week) on‑site role requires regular travel across the service region and may be based out of any Wellways office in New South Wales.

Responsibilities

- Provide practical support, care coordination and service navigation to empower participants to achieve their recovery goals.
- Connect participants with rehabilitation, pharmacotherapy, specialist AOD treatment, psycho‑education and harm minimisation services.
- Build solid partnerships with health providers and community organisations to ensure coordinated, person‑centred care.
- Share specialist AOD knowledge within a multidisciplinary team and support integrated practice across the Community Living Support program.
- Assist participants in accessing and engaging with community resources and programs.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with organisational policies.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience supporting people with alcohol and other drug challenges, preferably alongside mental‑health recovery.
- Knowledge of harm minimisation,



overdose prevention and recovery‑oriented practice.
- Completion of Certificate IV in Mental Health and Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or an equivalent qualification with AOD specialisation, plus relevant experience in a mental‑health and/or AOD context.
- Birth Certificate or Passport; current Australian Driver Licence.
- National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (free online course).
