Job Description
The AI Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s artificial intelligence strategy, providing leadership on AI technology selection, establishing governance frameworks for responsible adoption, and driving the prioritisation of AI use cases across the enterprise. Acting as a key facilitator between business and technology stakeholders, this role will ensure AI initiatives are aligned with strategic objectives, deliver measurable business value, and adhere to ethical, security, and regulatory requirements.
This role is responsible for defining and driving the organisation’s AI strategy by evaluating, recommending, and standardising AI platforms and technologies, with a strong focus on the Microsoft ecosystem while incorporating other leading solutions to ensure scalability, security, and interoperability. The position provides governance and oversight for AI adoption, establishing ethical frameworks, risk management practices, compliance standards, and decision‑making processes for responsible deployment. Working closely with business units, the AI Architect will assess, prioritise, and oversee AI opportunities to ensure initiatives align with enterprise objectives and deliver sustainable business outcomes. As a trusted adviser to executives and cross‑functional stakeholders, the role will set the strategic direction for AI adoption, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, digital transformation programmes, and innovation priorities while guiding informed investment and technology decisions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience designing, building, and implementing enterprise‑scale AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI solutions.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft AI technologies,
including Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, AI Search, and related Azure data and AI platforms.
- Strong hands‑on experience across leading cloud AI platforms, with deep expertise in either Microsoft Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, AI Search, Document Intelligence) or AWS AI services (SageMaker, Bedrock, Comprehend, Rekognition). Experience across both platforms is highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector Databases, Python, and PySpark.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, AI integration patterns, model lifecycle management, MLOps, and scalable deployment frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Responsible AI practices, including fairness, transparency, explainability, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to develop and execute enterprise AI strategies aligned with organisational objectives, digital transformation agendas, and innovation roadmaps.
- Extensive experience leading cross‑functional teams and influencing executives, senior stakeholders, and business leaders.
- Strong communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Experience establishing and governing AI frameworks, including ethical guidelines, risk management controls, audit requirements, and compliance processes.
- Sound understanding of global data privacy and protection regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and related governance standards.
- Significant track record of successfully delivering production‑grade Data and AI solutions at scale, ideally within professional services, government, financial services, telecommunications, or other complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable business outcomes through advanced AI capabilities such as recommendation engines, personalised user experiences, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and natural language processing (NLP) solutions.
