Role Details

- 18 months fixed-term, working hours negotiable
- Based at Lakes Entrance Aboriginal Health Association
- $23.19 per hour, plus superannuation
- In-person classes held monthly in Melbourne, financial assistance available

Overview

Lakes Entrance Aboriginal Health Association (LEAHA) in partnership with Gippsland Lakes Complete Health (GLCH) aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal community members in and around the townships of Lakes Entrance, Metung and Swan Reach.

Training

This traineeship will provide on the job training whilst completing HLT40221 Certificate IV Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Care Practice.

Role Duties

You will develop the skills and knowledge required to support the delivery of culturally protected, primary health care services. Working under supervision, you will assist with basic clinical tasks, health promotion activities and client support, while building confidence, strong communication skills and an understanding of community needs.

- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- A positive, customer-focused attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Commitment to following all policies and legal requirements
- Previous work experience is an advantage but not essential
