Contract Details

Contract Duration: 6 months with one possible 12‑month extension.

About the Role

We are a forward‑thinking organisation delivering a large‑scale digital transformation program and wish to shape the future of cloud, data and AI‑enabled services. We need an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement and optimise secure cloud platforms that support critical digital, research, analytics and innovation initiatives. You will work closely with software developers, data specialists, architects and technology partners to deliver scalable, resilient and modern cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable and resilient cloud environments in Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar tools.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or equivalent technologies.
- Support the deployment of AI/ML platforms, APIs, analytics environments and secure data pipelines.
- Collaborate with developers and data specialists to operationalise digital tools and AI‑driven solutions.
- Implement cloud security, identity and access management, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery best practices.
- Monitor cloud performance, reliability, utilisation and costs to drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to infrastructure planning, architecture design and platform optimisation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures and architecture artefacts.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful technology outcomes.

About You





- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps or a similar role.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud‑native technologies.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar platforms.
- Exposure to AI/ML deployment, MLOps, data engineering or secure platform operations.
- Solid understanding of cloud security, governance and operational best practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to collaborative delivery teams.

Highly Regarded

- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing Azure AI environments and landing zones.
- Experience supporting digital health, research, data or innovation‑focused environments.
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert and other relevant Azure certifications.
