ABOUT THE ROLES

Reporting to the Wungening Moort Coordinator, this role sits within the Wungening Moort Aboriginal In-Home Support Service (AISS).

This service is delivered in partnership with Moorditj Koort, Coolabaroo Community Services, and is led by Wungening Aboriginal Corporation. You will work alongside Senior Moort Caseworkers and Moort Support Workers to provide intensive, culturally safe support to vulnerable Aboriginal families across the Perth metropolitan area.

Your focus is to support families to raise moorditj djerripin koorlungas (strong, happy children).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Deliver intensive case management to families with complex needs.
- Engage, assess, plan and provide structured support interventions.
- Provide a mix of parenting support, advocacy and practical in-home assistance.
- Strengthen family functioning through cultural and community connection.
- Support families to build resilience and respond to crisis.
- Create protected and protective home environments.
- Improve connection to education and community supports.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and best practice.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

- Improved parenting skills to ensure child safety.
- Reduced impact of family issues on children.
- Increased school attendance and engagement.
- Strengthened culturally safe support networks.





ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

- A qualification in a relevant area at Diploma level or higher OR minimum two years’ experience providing clinical case management to vulnerable and difficult to engage families.
- Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to promote healing and family safety and wellbeing.
- Knowledge of the issues and challenges experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children in contact with the child protection system.
- Demonstrated communication, facilitation and negotiation skills including written, oral and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be part of a team in order to deliver a quality service and achieve client outcomes.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and act decisively.
- Demonstrable commitment to empowering and respecting children and young people.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe environments for children and young people and protect them from abuse and neglect.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

- WA Working with Children Card.
- Police Clearance (dated within the last three months).
- WA Driver’s Licence.
- Department of Communities Screening (we will help successful candidates to apply).
