- About the role
As a Digital Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the City's digital presence, ensuring our websites and online communication channels deliver exceptional customer experiences, accurate information, and effective marketing and engagement outcomes.
Working collaboratively with content owners across the organisation, you will provide expert guidance on web content management and digital best practices, ensuring all online content aligns with the City's Web Standards, Communication Guidelines and Brand Framework.
This is an exciting opportunity for a digitally savvy professional who is passionate about user experience, accessibility, content design and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities
- Create, edit and publish web content, page layouts and digital assets including forms, maps, images and PDFs.
- Work closely with content owners to maintain accurate, relevant and customer-focused website content.
- Apply HTML and CSS skills to optimise and publish content through content management systems (CMS) and associated digital platforms.
- Ensure content complies with best practice web standards, including accessibility (WCAG), user experience (UX), information architecture, SEO and readability principles.
- Utilise multimedia and content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, electronic direct marketing (EDM) platforms and smart form solutions to develop engaging digital content.
- Monitor, analyse and report on website traffic, customer behaviour and digital engagement trends.
- Identify and recommend improvements that enhance website performance, usability and customer experience.
- Perform day-to-day website administration activities, including quality assurance reviews, content audits and the removal of outdated or redundant content.
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders and contribute effectively within a collaborative and quick-paced team environment.
About you
You are a proactive and customer-focused digital professional with strong web content management skills and a keen eye for detail. You enjoy working with a diverse range of stakeholders and are passionate about delivering accessible, user-friendly and engaging digital experiences.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience managing and maintaining website content using content management systems.
- Knowledge of web standards, accessibility requirements, SEO principles and user experience best practices.
- Practical skills in HTML and CSS.
- Experience using digital content creation and multimedia tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret website performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Qualifications and Licences
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Multimedia, Internet Studies or the equivalent experience.
- Desired - Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ).
