FindStaff is proud to partner with our Client, a well-established engineering and maintenance organisation supporting critical operations across the mining, manufacturing, transport, energy and heavy industrial sectors.
Due to continued growth, our Client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their workshop team in Gillman, SA. This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of mechanical equipment, carrying out precision repairs, diagnostics, refurbishment and maintenance activities on vital industrial assets.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Dismantling, inspecting and refurbishing industrial pumps and rotating equipment
Performing gearbox rebuilds, servicing bearings, seals, shafts and related components
Diagnosing and rectifying faults across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Conducting equipment inspections and identifying causes of component failure
Carrying out precision assembly and alignment of rotating machinery
Utilising workshop machinery including lathes, milling machines and boring equipment for component restoration and machining tasks
Interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and repair procedures
Recording measurements, completing inspection reports and maintaining quality documentation
Providing workshop support and occasional assistance with on-site maintenance projects when required
About You
To be successful in this position, you will ideally possess:
Mechanical Fitter trade qualifications
Previous experience within industrial maintenance,
manufacturing, mining, engineering services or heavy industry environments
Sound knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, rotating equipment and mechanical drive systems
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and technical documents
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
A proactive approach to workplace safety
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Desirable Skills & Tickets
While not essential, the following will be highly advantageous:
Dogging, Rigging or Forklift licences
Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications
Electrical trade qualifications or electrical fault-finding experience
Current manual driver's licence
Exposure to field service or shutdown maintenance work
Ability to obtain or provide a National Police Clearance
