About the Role

We are looking for an Early Psychosis Senior Clinician to practise within the Strengths Model of Recovery‐Oriented Care. Under the guidance of the Team Leader, Consultant Psychiatrist and the Program Manager Early Psychosis (St Vincent’s Mental Health), you will implement and maintain the Early Psychosis Program (EPP) at Hawthorn Community Mental Health Clinic.

EPP is a clinical stream that delivers early intervention to consumers who are at risk of developing a psychotic illness or who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis, and who may also present with a range of co‑morbidity and complex needs.

Responsibilities

- Implement and maintain the Early Psychosis Program (EPP) at Hawthorn Community Mental Health Clinic.
- Deliver inclusive practices for all young people and families, incorporating culturally safe and trauma‑informed principles.
- Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, direct care, and consultation for consumers, families and significant others within an assertive, intensive case management model.
- Provide secondary consultation to case managers to achieve optimal outcomes for all participants.
- Support the Senior Staff Group in in‑service development, including review of clinical and team processes.
- Collaborate with counterpart positions at Clarendon Community Mental Health Service and across the St Vincent’s Mental Health Service as part of the wider EPP.

Qualifications





- Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification in psychology or nursing; minimum of 7 years post‑qualification in Occupational Therapy or Social Work.
- Proven ability to provide high quality mental health interventions to people with reliable mental illness, including assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention and rehabilitation.
- Demonstrated skills in engaging consumers with complex needs and the capacity to identify and respond to dual diagnosis clients.
- Sound knowledge of current early psychosis theory and practice within public mental health.
- Valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain one.

Classifications

- OT/SW – Grade 4, HR9 – HR12 or HR25 – HR28 ($107,260 – $122,548 per annum pro rata)
- RPN – Grade 4, NP75 – NP77 ($121,274 – $130,603 per annum pro rata)
