The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Business Development Officer , you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Council's economic development objectives through business engagement, project coordination, events, training programs and precinct activations. This is an exciting prospect for someone who enjoys building relationships, managing a variety of projects and helping businesses thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of economic development initiatives that promote business growth, investment and vibrant activity centres.
- Coordinate and deliver business networking events, training programs and business precinct activations.
- Provide responsive advice and support to local businesses to strengthen capability, sustainability and growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trader associations, business groups and government stakeholders.
- Assist in the implementation of projects aligned with Council's Economic Development Action Plan and Council Plan.
- Support the administration and ongoing monitoring of Special Rate and Charge Schemes across key activity centres.
- Develop and coordinate marketing communications, website content and social media campaigns to support economic development initiatives.
- Work collaboratively across Council to achieve positive outcomes for businesses and the broader community.
Skills & Experience
- A degree qualification in Business, Economics, Commerce, marketing, Planning, Economic Development or related discipline with relevant experience; or lesser formal qualification with substantial relevant experience.
- Proficient in maintaining administrative systems, web-based applications and sound skills and knowledge of Microsoft Software Applications
- Knowledge of local government and Council processes and procedures would be well regarded.
- Current Victorian driver's licence preferred but not essential
