The Child Development Hub is a child-friendly, family-focused multi-disciplinary allied health team who strive to provide children with every opportunity to succeed in life. We care about our clients and our team and this is reflected in the way we approach and place importance on our scheduling of clients, supervision and workplace relationships with each other.

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Speech Pathologist with a passion for working with children. We are accepting all applications with varying experience. Both part-time and full-time applicants will be considered.

- Have direct input into what your day looks like, with a healthy balance of direct client time and time for admin. This allows clinicians time to provide a quality service for all our clients including time for administrative tasks such as emails/phone calls with stakeholders, notes, preparation for clients, research/planning, resource making, report writing, case discussions, supervision.
- Our speech pathologists have a broad caseload and are supported in building their experience across a range of practice areas. We see many clients with Autism, genetic conditions, neurological conditions and other developmental delays. We provide treatment for speech sound disorders, language delays/disorders, cognitive skills, literacy, fluency, feeding/swallowing, social interaction, and AAC. Special interests and professional development are supported and encouraged.
- We are a diverse multidisciplinary team consisting of 3 speech pathologists, 4 occupational therapists, 3 physiotherapists,



a dietitian and a social worker who care about our work and clients and love to problem-solve and plan together.

Responsibilities

- Assess infants and children with a range of presentations, using a variety of diagnostic tools including standardised assessments.
- Identify each child’s strengths and challenges and provide goal-oriented, targeted intervention to support their individual needs.
- Empower families to support their loved ones’ communication development, working closely with caregivers to provide education, resources, and ongoing support throughout the therapy process.
- Manage a paediatric caseload and ensure all documentation including client record keeping and report writing is accurate, concise and completed in a timely manner in accordance with professional health practitioner standards.
- Supported to provide assistive technology assessments and prescriptions as required.
- Deliver routine speech pathology clinical practice in line with the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics and in accordance with contemporary evidence-based practice principles.




- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to management and the opportunity to participate in collaborative partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders to improve developmental outcomes for clients.

Qualifications & Skills

The successful candidate will have:

- A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Pathology as recognised by Speech Pathology Australia.
- Current Speech Pathology Australia registration.
- A current Blue Card (Queensland’s Working With Children Check).
- Experience working with children and their families preferred.
- An understanding of goal-oriented, family-centred and evidence-informed practices.
- High level of oral and written communication skills and commitment to working within a team.
- A passion for working with children and their families, demonstrating a calm, positive, and empathic approach at all times.
- A creative, fun and positive attitude.
- Flexible work arrangements (full-time or part time applicants will be considered)

- Work within an experienced multi-disciplinary team including supportive admin.
