What you'll be doing

As a Child and Family Speech Pathologist, you will provide assessment and intervention for children experiencing communication and feeding difficulties using a primary health care and family‑centred approach.



You will work closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence‑based services that support children to achieve their developmental goals.

- Assess and manage speech, language, fluency, voice and feeding disorders in children
- Deliver services through a variety of models including individual therapy, group programs, parent education and consultation
- Develop collaborative care plans and treatment goals with families and caregivers
- Contribute to health promotion, community education, service improvement and quality initiatives
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated and culturally responsive care

Qualifications and experience

Qualification: Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligible for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

- Demonstrated experience in providing paediatric Speech Pathology services.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with families from different psychosocial, socio economic or CALD backgrounds.
- Understanding of Primary Health Care principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team within a community setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of evidence based practice and commitment to professional development.
- Highly developed and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills.




- Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of computer based applications and hold a Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
