Veterinary Nurse / Veterinary Technician – Exotics
Our client is seeking a passionate and qualified Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technician to join their highly regarded specialist exotics practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step outside of traditional companion animal practice and work with a diverse range of exotic species in a supportive, collaborative setting. Whether you already have experience with exotics or are eager to develop your skills, you'll be supported by a team that is committed to continuous learning and exceptional patient care.
About the Practice
Our client is a leading specialist veterinary practice dedicated to the care of rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, rats and mice. They are passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, educating clients, and supporting animal welfare and rescue organisations.
The practice offers a unique clinical environment where no two days are the same. With a varied and complex caseload, veterinary nurses are encouraged to utilise their full range of clinical skills while working closely alongside an experienced veterinary team.

The Role
This is a full-time position offering:
- 72 hours per fortnight
- Four-day working week (4 x 9-hour shifts)
- One in four Saturday rotation
- A diverse and rewarding caseload involving exotic companion animals

About You
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
- A proactive, enthusiastic and motivated approach
- A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team workplace
- A genuine interest in exotic companion animals, including rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, rats and mice
- Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia (VNCA) accreditation, or willingness to obtain it, is highly regarded
- Previous experience working with exotic species is advantageous but not essential
