Lead Systems Safety Across Complex Engineering Projects!
We’re partnering with an innovative Australian engineering business delivering complex, high-value engineering solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems Safety Engineer to lead the systems safety function across sophisticated electromechanical systems, ensuring products are safe, compliant and fit for purpose throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Working as part of a collaborative Systems Engineering team, you’ll take ownership of the safety program while influencing design outcomes from concept through to delivery.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the Systems Safety Program across complex engineering projects.
- Performing system safety and hazard analysis activities in accordance with MIL-STD-882 .
- Managing hazard logs and hazard control registers.
- Developing, verifying and documenting safety requirements and hazard controls.
- Preparing and reviewing safety artefacts, engineering documentation and safety assurance cases.
- Supporting verification and validation activities.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to the broader engineering team.
- Driving a strong safety culture across the organisation.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong experience delivering Systems Safety activities using MIL-STD-882 .
- Experience managing hazard logs and hazard control registers.
- Verification & Validation (V&V;) experience.
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Highly regarded:
- Experience within complex engineering or highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288).
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama Connect.
- Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) engineering experience.
