Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Operation (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon and leucoxene, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role

Based in our Perth office, the Manager Finance reports to the Chief Financial Officer and leads the financial reporting function for KMS. You’ll ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, overseeing consolidated financial statements and the monthly close process with a strong focus on internal controls and compliance.

You’ll be the key point of contact for internal and external auditors, keeping the business audit-ready year-round. Beyond reporting, you’ll provide financial insights that support strategic initiatives, operational planning, and capital allocation, working closely with business leaders to strengthen financial acumen and improve systems, processes, and controls across KMS.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the financial reporting function, including preparation and review of consolidated statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance,



and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making, strategic initiatives, capital allocation, and operational planning
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems by partnering with internal stakeholders
- Lead annual insurance coordination, ensuring financial inputs are accurate and risk exposures are appropriately covered
- Lead and manage lender engagement, ensuring compliance with lender arrangements and covenants
- Govern the monthly financial close process, ensuring all reconciliations, adjustments, and journals are reviewed and signed off in line with internal controls
- Oversee the payroll function, ensuring legislative compliance, accurate cost reporting, and robust governance through effective controls
- Lead audit support across the finance function, coordinating internal and external audit processes and acting as the primary point of contact for auditors, including preparation of technical accounting papers where required
- Ensure effective tax governance, including coordination of FIRB, royalty, and lease accounting reporting
- Govern financial systems and frameworks, including ERP compliance, chart of accounts integrity,



and financial control structures

About You

- Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting
- CPA or CA qualification (MBA highly regarded)
- Minimum 7–10 years' experience in finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
- Robust knowledge of financial systems, reporting tools, and Excel
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and managing compliance and statutory obligations
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate teams
- Excellent communication skills, able to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Effective change management experience, particularly through financial strategy or market shifts
- High moral standards and integrity, with resilience and adaptability to economic change
