ASX, a leading global securities exchange, is seeking a Project Manager to lead Tier 1 initiatives within the Markets Program, which focuses on modernising clearing and risk systems.

Role Overview

Lead the delivery of complex financial risk initiatives, managing project activities, risks, and stakeholder engagement to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and deliver project/program experience specialising in financial risk initiatives.
- Plan, manage and execute end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects.
- Collaborate with program owners and stakeholders to formulate business cases and obtain funding approval.
- Develop and implement predictive and adaptive project management plans.
- Oversee technical and non‑technical components, ensuring change management and smooth transition to BAU.
- Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, risk, issue, resource planning and reporting.
- Drive governance through strategic guidance, steering committees and working groups.
- Prepare updates and performance metrics for board, C‑suite and regulatory audiences.
- Lead hiring processes and contribute to performance evaluations.
- Foster engagement, build high‑performing cross‑functional teams and promote a one‑team culture.

Qualifications & Experience





- Sound understanding and practical experience within financial markets, particularly clearing and risk.
- Proven delivery of large, complex financial projects spanning technology and business, with inter‑dependencies across teams.
- Experience managing projects in hybrid/agile environments and with multiple vendors.
- Strong communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive steering groups.
- Effective problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self‑awareness, emotional intelligence and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

- Tertiary education or relevant industry certification.
- Experience in regulatory model accreditation projects.
- Experience with Agile, Lean and Waterfall methodologies.
- Comfortable working within a matrix structure.
