Role Overview

Reporting to the Bid Manager, the Civil Estimator will prepare competitive tenders for large‑scale renewable projects across Australia and New Zealand, developing detailed civil estimates, assessing risks, and supporting bid strategies.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed civil cost estimates, quantity take‑offs and Bills of Quantities.
- Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical information and technical documentation to identify scope, risks and opportunities.
- Develop first‑principles estimates covering earthworks, roads, drainage, foundations, cable trenches and associated civil infrastructure.
- Prepare and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing to support competitive tender submissions.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to optimise project solutions.
- Support bid strategy, commercial reviews and tender clarifications throughout the submission process.

Key Requirements

- Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction estimating, tendering, pre‑contracts or a related role.




- Strong experience estimating civil infrastructure works including earthworks, roads, drainage, foundations, trenching and structural elements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with experience completing quantity take‑offs from 2D and 3D design models.
- Experience preparing estimates for Design & Construct, EPC, Construct Only or Lump Sum projects.
- Strong ability to interpret technical documentation including drawings, geotechnical reports, surveys and specifications.
- Excellent commercial awareness, communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
