Principal Shared Decision-making Officer, Closing the Gap Priority Reform 4 (Targeted position)

Remuneration: $147,653 - $175,917 p.a. plus Superannuation

About the role

This is a new and exciting role at NSW Health. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how NSW Health works with Aboriginal communities through shared decision-making on government-held data. Working at the intersection of data, policy and partnership, you will build relationships across NSW Health, government agencies and community partners to deliver on NSW's Closing the Gap Priority Reform 4 commitments.

You will directly contribute to long-term reform that supports Aboriginal community aspirations and self-determination. You will work closely with the Department of Customer Service and cross-government partners to embed new approaches to shared decision-making regarding data across NSW Government.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will support NSW Health executives to participate in shared decision‑making forums regarding NSW Government‑held data. You will coordinate and support implementation of data quality and interpretation improvement actions arising from forum decisions.

You will develop compelling written, verbal and visual advice to support executive decision‑making and stakeholder engagement. You will support program evaluation and continuous improvement by monitoring participation, implementation activities and outcomes.

About you

We are looking for motivated individuals, with a genuine commitment to enabling Aboriginal Peoples, Communities and organisations to make informed, local decisions, be improving shared access to data. You will have:





- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships across government, community and partner organisations.
- The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment, with big impact.
- Experience in data, governance, or analytics.
- Understanding of the principles of Aboriginal Data Sovereignty and Governance.

Experience working with Aboriginal communities or in partnership‑based programs involving government and non‑government organisations will be highly regarded.
