The Role

The Student Health Coordinator leads the provision of health services across the school and boarding student community, to support their health, wellbeing and safety. The role combines some aspects of direct clinical care, alongside the coordination of other health services where needed, providing the assessment, triage and maintenance of appropriate healthcare pathways.

The Role supports students to fully participate in their educational experience and contributes to health promotion, school based wellbeing initiatives and the development of a safe and supportive school environment, through professional health leadership and guidance to management on health-related policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

- Ensures the provision of secure, effective and responsive clinical care, assessment, triage, treatment and health support for students.

- Ensures oversight of student health care planning, service provision, medication management, referrals and support for students with ongoing or complex health needs.

- Contributes to a holistic approach to student wellbeing through collaboration with wellbeing, pastoral care, boarding, educational and leadership teams, including appropriate responses to health, wellbeing and child safety concerns.

- Ensures effective planning and delivery of health education and wellbeing initiatives.





- Maintains professional standards and a commitment to continuous improvement in support of student health and wellbeing.

- Actively contributes to a safe, compliant, and healthy workplace by taking personal responsibility, following safety procedures, and supporting organisational obligations.

What we're looking for

1. A Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

2. Minimum 3 years' experience working in a clinical and/or health coordination role.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, medication management and health care coordination, ideally in a boarding school (or similar) setting.

4. Demonstrated understanding of professional, legal and ethical obligations relating to nursing practice within a child safe environment.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, colleagues and external providers.

6. Strong organisational and time management skills.

7. Commitment to continuous professional development.
